“Universal revelations” deals with subcultures and human communities operating in the mainstream of our society and alongside it, whose goals and behaviour models create the basis for the birth of a completely new society – a changed world order, the reincarnation of mythological creatures. By exposing a living being as a mini-form of society and nature, the exposition seeks out the inner desires and passions of the human soul, as well as the hidden grey zones of all of our collective bodies.”
Opening: 10. January 7 PM

At the opening of the exhibition, in addition to Non Grata: Jacob Cohen, Joseph Sledgianowski, Taje Paldrok alias Devil Girl & Al Paldrok alias Anonymous Boh, there were live performances by New York performance groups: Guerilla Theater: Crackhead Barney, Gabriel Hudson Robinson, MAKS, Brei Frei, Jeremy Slater; Artemis Beasts: Vilma Duplantier, Shelly Voorhees and Jarva; AnarkoArtLab: Adriana Varella
“The artwork by Taje Paldrok set the stage for performances of the night. Her work makes reference to multiple layers and universes existing on earth. As the night of performance evolved, many overlapping universes became reality in the space where at first photos hung, alongside instruments that were strapped to large ropes hanging from the ceiling. Without this important contextual artwork for performers to spring from, the night of action would have been totally different.
A birth chaos with sounds and uterean utterances from modular synth wizard Joseph Sledgianowski, handmade cellist fabricator and performer Jacob Cohen, and experimental guitar virtuoso Jeremy Slater.
Performers MAKS, Gabriel Hudson Robinson, Crackhead Barney, and Brei Frei slowly joined to create phsycial violence from this nebulous atmosphere, grounding the music to the space itself.
When energy expands, physical space can feel restrictive. Performers spilled onto the street from the gallery with Crackhead Barney leading the charge pulling various articles from the street. What was a minute ago intert construction material became ritual object. All transpired to the amusement and consternation of the public. Jeremy Slater continued with frenetic guitar work out of doors via wireless setup and battery powered amplifier.
After half an hour of this abstracted prelude, Artemis Beasts and Jarva came out to setup their vingette narrating in fractured aesthetic the plight of animals in human dominated realm entitled “Monkey Business” Carefully staged beakers, glowing liquids, and ornately sculpted ape masks set the tone for a sexually charged albeit tortuous conversation about animal cruelty. At its climax Non Grata joined Artemis Beasts and created elemental energy with controlled flame throwers.
Where to go from this crescendo? Back into the cold. But instead of the street, a secret garden was where the crowd was lead. And Al Paldroks flame work was setting the stage for much larger presentation of fire. AnarkoArtLab – led by Black – comandeered a profound ritual that tore history in half. Old God fell, new gods arose from the flames – if only for that moment. Artist and performer Brei Frei, wearing what looked like plated armor across the center of her face, was cast in the role of diety. No dogmas were announced, just freedom to express.
An impromptu performance by FDNY ended the ceremony.”

Taje Paldrok on performance ́i, installatsiooni ja uue meedia kunstnik. Kunstialase hariduse omandanud Academia Non Gratas, Kuvataideakatemias Helsingis, Eesti Kunstiakadeemias ja Universität der Künste Berliinis. Ta on rahvusvahelise Non Grata Performance Groupi üks peamisi mootoreid alates 1998 aastast.
Avamisel Live performance: Non Grata, AnarkoArtLab, Guerilla Theater, Artemis Beasts!
Taje Paldroki “Universaalsed ilmutused” lõid õhustiku tegevuskunsti aktsioonideks näituse avamisel. Teosed viitavad maapeal paralleelselt eksisteerivale mitmekesisele ühiskonna kihistustele ja universumile.
Õhtu arenedes said paljud kattuvad universumid reaalsuseks ruumis, kus algselt eksponeeriti fotosid galerii seintel koos instrumentidega, mis rippusid laest eksponaatide eraldustrosside küljes. Ilma selle olulise kontekstuaalse kunstita oleks tegevusõhtu kujunenud täiesti teistsuguseks.
Maailmade sünnituskaos helide ja emakaliste lausungidega modulaarselt süntesaatorivõlurilt Joseph Sledgianowskilt, käsitööna valminud tšellistide valmistajalt ja helikunstnik Jacob Cohenilt ning eksperimentaalselt kitarrivirtuoosilt Jeremy Slaterilt.
Esinejad MAKS, Gabriel Hudson Robinson, Crackhead Barney ja Brei Frei ühinesid tegevuskunsti sümbioosis, et luua sellest ebakonkreetsest atmosfäärist füüsilist vägivalda, maandades muusika ruumi endasse.
Kui energia paisub, võib füüsiline ruum tunduda piiravana.
Esinejad liikusid galeriist tänavale, Crackhead Barney juhtis protsessi ja haaras tänavalt kaasa erinevaid objekte ja esemeid. Minut tagasi sai tavalisest ehitusmaterjalist rituaalne objekt.
Kuhu sellest crescendost edasi minna? Tagasi külma kätte. Kuid tänava asemel oli salaaed, kuhu rahvast juhiti. Ja Al Paldroki leegid panid aluse palju suuremale esitlusele. AnarkoArtLab, mida juhib Black, korraldas põhjaliku rituaali, mis rebis ajaloo pooleks. Vanajumal langes, leekidest tõusid uued jumalad – kuid ainult selleks hetkeks.
Tseremoonia lõpetas FDNY (New Yorgi tuletõrje).
